It is hard to believe that today, the temperature is 73 degrees in Charlestown. Spring has finally come, and the snowplow is off the truck for the season.

Good Shepherd hopes that you all had a blessed and joyous Sunday of the Resurrection. We are again assured of our Lord’s victory over death in his sacrifice for us on the Cross. Christ has defeated sin and death, and reigns victorious over all Creation. We know that Jesus desires us to be with Him. How much love He has for us, despite all our failings. This gives us hope. We are called, especially at Easter, give our lives to God and to love and care for our neighbors.

On Easter Day, Midnight, our church dog, was decked out in a white kerchief, in keeping with the liturgical colors of the day. Not to be out done, Gracie, our church cat, left each of the clergy, a small box of chocolate mice from Burdicks. We are indeed blessed by small gifts.

During the week of July 7 – 11, each day from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., the Church of the Good Shepherd will host "Summer Thunder 2014" Vacation Bible School for kids from kindergarten through fifth grade. The program will include songs, games, crafts, Bible stories, and snacks. Consider joining us for a great time as we learn about the Bible with counselors from Camp Good News. Reserve a place by sending an e-mail to Fr. David at dwmoody@beaverwood.com.
