On Sunday, August 4th we welcomed new member into the Body of Christ, John Ilves, the son of Aare and Joan Ilves. John has long been a loyal member of our Wednesday Bible Study group and is now a second year graduate student at the University of Montreal studying mathematics. Phil and Bonnie Turner hosted a reception for John and his family after the service. John will be in our thoughts and prayers during the coming school year. On Sunday, August 4th we welcomed new member into the Body of Christ, John Ilves, the son of Aare and Joan Ilves.

The following weekend, Fr. David and Jeanne Moody marched in a parade celebrating the 250th anniversary of Alstead. He represented the first full-time minister in Alstead. On Sunday, Fr. David assisted other Alstead clergy at an ecumenical service on Millot Green by preaching a sermon. Bill Latimer served as an usher. The service was followed by a traditional New England Sunday potluck lunch. The collection benefits the Fall Mountain Food Shelf.

Of note is that the Fall Mountain Food Shelf has the opportunity to match up to $20,000 on monetary donations made between Labor Day and Thanksgiving Day. The matching funds will be provided by a family foundation in New Hampshire. This means that the Food Shelf could raise $40,000 for operations next winter. Please keep this worthy cause in mind..

Our Bible Study sessions each Wednesday at 9 a.m. will continue to examine the Acts of the Apostles.
