Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd

The season of Advent is upon us as we prepare for the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ. Somehow, this December seems busier than most with the Charlestown arts and Craft Fair (Dec. 1), the Historic House Tour (Dec. 8) various musical programs, and, of course the writing of Christmas cards and shopping for family presents. All of this activity and more leaves little time for the "spiritual house cleaning" that we should engage in during the weeks before Christmas. You might wish to drop by the Anglican Church of the Good Shepherd during the house tour on December 8 and view the 10 plus Nativity scenes in our parish hall and see how various artists have portrayed the traditional manger scene. While in the church, sit in a pew and reflect for a moment on Godís many blessings to you during the past year and pray for the poor and needy of the world.

Advent is a time expectant waiting. We are waiting for the coming of Godís Son into the world as a helpless child. This is an occasion of great joy for Christians, and a testimony of Godís love for us -- the greatest of all Christmas gifts. We extend our love and best wishes to our friends in the Charlestown community for a wonderful Christmas and for a safe and Happy New Year.
